Website Hosting

For your security, and continuity of service, your website will be hosted by an external specialist company. This is managed by us to ensure smooth running.

We offer different sized hosting levels to suit your needs. The webspace is the measure of the size of your website, more content means more megabytes. The bandwidth is the measure of the popularity of your website, a site that has more page views will require more gigabytes of bandwidth.

200MB webspace, 1GB bandwidth - This is enough for most small corporate websites and is included in our basic maintenance package.

500MB webspace, 5GB bandwidth - This is included in our standard package so that you can more freely take advantage of the extra features offered by this package.

Extra webspace and bandwidth is provided (for any maintenance package) should you require it, in the following levels:

1GB webspace, 10GB bandwidth

5GB webspace, 50GB bandwidth

10GB webspace, 100GB bandwidth - This really is a lot. If you need more than this, you should probably be looking at having an in-house website department rather than outsourcing.

The amount of webspace that you need can be controlled by you. If you start to get near to your limit and don't want to pay for the next level, you can try to decrease the content of your website. Removing images is a good way to reduce your webspace requirements.

However, your bandwidth requirements are not easy to control. You cannot control how many people are going to visit your site and you can't control how much of your site they visit. Every piece of data that a visitor views counts towards your bandwidth usage. Naturally, you want as many targetted visitors coming to your website as possible to improve your sales potential. But this, of course, increases the bandwidth requirements.

You can set your site to completely shut down for the rest of the month once you reach your bandwidth limit, but that option is just crazy if you want to attract any sales with your website at all.

Openglobal IT will notify you if you start to get close to your webspace or bandwidth limits so that you can decide on the best course of action.
