Forced redirects to "www."

Something which can have an adverse effect on your search engine optimisation is that most websites actually appear to search engines to be 2 different websites. This is becuase the search engines see "yourcompany.com" as a separate website to "www.yourcompany.com".

This means that when assigning value to your website, it doesn't know which of these two website addresses to assign the value to. You are effectively spreading your value over two websites instead of concentrating it all on just one.

For this reason, we employ a technique that redirects everything to the www.yourcompany.com. If someone types in your web address without the "www" the server automatically redirects them (without and noticeable effect) to the correctly named equivalent. This means that search engines know that all value should be assigned to one single web address and your SEO efforts are maximised.
